October 21, 2013 - Jury selection began Monday for the trial involving a former OU professor who has been accused of sexually abusing several young girls. The trial should continue on throughout the week. Dwain Pellebon Around 50 people were in Judge Tracy Schumacher’s courtroom in the Cleveland County Courthouse Monday and were asked questions to ensure they could be fair and unbiased jurors. Former social work professor Dwain Pellebon, 56, (Ethinicty Unknown) is being charged with three counts of child sexual abuse and six counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child under 16. Pellebon pled not guilty during his arraignment on July 21, 2012. He was initially arrested on Dec. 9, 2011, after a child welfare worker said a teenage girl saw Pellebon molest a 13-year-old-girl the day before. According to the probable cause affidavit, the girl saw Pellebon lying in bed with another girl and watched him as he “stroked” her “over and over.” There were four more instances of sexual abuse listed on the affidavit.
